It is essential for cardiovascular function, and development and function of skeletal muscle, the retina and the central nervous system. Antioxidant. Inhibitor of lipid peroxidation. Shows anti-inflammatory and anti-obesity activities. Used in cosmetics due to its antifibrotic properties and maintaining skin hydration.
