Moreover, obestatin also counteracts ghrelin?s effect by decelerating gastric emptying and decreasing intestinal contractility. Obestatin binds to orphan G protein-coupled receptor GPR39. Amidation of the C-terminus seems to be important for obestatin?s activity.
