Bioactivity:
Capreomycin is a polypeptide antibiotic originally isolated from S. capreolus. It is active against M. tuberculosis (MIC = 10 ug/ml). Capreomycin binds to both the 30S and 50S ribosomal subunits, inhibiting protein synthesis.
