Bioactivity:
Eprosartan is a competitive and reversible angiotensin II receptor antagonist. It also used for the treatment of high blood pressure. The drug acts on the renin-angiotensin system to decrease total peripheral resistance. It blocks the binding of angiotensin II to AT1 receptors in vascular smooth muscle, causing vascular dilatation and it inhibits sympathetic norepinephrine production, further reducing blood pressure.
