Future Fields produces recombinant proteins with the EntoEngine™, or their fruit fly-based biomanufacturing platform. “How does it work?” is a question they always get asked by customers and partners. They usually answer this on the fly, but with the launch of their custom protein solutions, Future Fields wants to provide a one-stop explainer session that dives into the process and technical advantages of the EntoEngine™ for producing complex proteins at scale. This webinar recording is from their live virtual event in December 2023. Future Fields co-founder and CEO Matt Anderson-Baron reveals their biomanufacturing process and is later joined with VP Product, Avi Sheshachalam, and VP R&D, Ela Dudek, for a live Q&A. Moderating the panel as well as opening and closing the event is VP Sales & Marketing, Chris Fetterly.

Necroptosis, a form of regulated cell death, has gained significant attention recently due to its involvement in various physiological and pathological processes. Necroptosis is a specialized form of programmed cell death that is tightly controlled by various signaling pathways, mediators, and immune responses. Interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) signaling pathways have been identified as critical regulators of necroptosis in macrophages. Understanding the underlying molecular mechanisms that govern necroptosis is essential for unraveling its role in immune responses and disease pathogenesis.

Camelid Single Domain Antibodies (sdAbs), also known as nanobodies, have emerged as powerful tools in immunology and molecular biology. CD8A, a vital cell surface glycoprotein in immune responses, has become a focus of research and diagnostics. Derived from camelids, these sdAbs offer advantages such as a small size for precise targeting, stability in extreme conditions, and unique binding capabilities.

Abnova offers Camelid Single Domain Antibody Service for production of target-specific sdAb from naïve camelid VHH library. By using the advanced naïve camelid VHH library screening technology, they screen the library and isolate the sdAb clones for your required antigens. Positive clones are sequenced and validated by ELISA. The selected clones will then be introduced into HEK293 expression vector or E. coli expression vector for transient and scalable sdAb production for many downstream applications.

Abnova camelid single domain antibodies (sdAbs) derived from alpacas or llamas with great penetrability and affinity to recognize difficult epitopes. The product lines include FluoTag-Q, FluoTag-X2 and FluoTag-X4, featuring different number of sdAb and coupled fluorophore. In FluoTag-Q series, each fluorophore is conjugated to exactly one sdAb. The FluoTag-X2 series contains two fluorophores coupled with one sdAb. In terms of FluoTag-X4, it is a mix of 2 sdAbs that can bind simultaneously with the target molecule, and each sdAb is coupled with 2 fluorophores.

The term "adjuvant" derives from adjuvare, meaning to assist. Any material that increases the humoral and/or cellular immune response of an antigen is considered as an adjuvant and it is said to be immunogenic. A multitude of adjuvants of extremely diverse origin exist. Two of the most distinguished adjuvant types are the immune-stimulating agents and the "vaccine-carriers". The immune-stimulating agents activate the immune cells directly by binding to different receptors. While the vaccine carriers contain the antigen and are able to incorporate it into the immune system in different manners. However, vehicles often have their own immunostimulatory properties, simply because they constitute foreign bodies.

Magnetofection™ was developed to gather, in one convenient system, the advantages of the popular biochemical (cationic lipids or polymers) and physical transfection methods (electroporation, gene gun) while overcoming their respective limitations such as low efficiency, toxicity, and difficulty in handling. Magnetofection can be defined as the delivery of nucleic acids, either naked or packaged (in complexes with lipids or polymers, and viruses), using magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) under the guidance of an external magnetic field.
